TIMOTHY
LEE DRUMMOND, Bassist, Born April 20, 1940 in
Bloomington, Illinois, USA. Bassist, Tim Drummond
began playing Rhythm & Blues and Rock 'n' Roll while in
Charleston, South Carolina.
Tim's father was stationed in Charleston with the U. S.
Air force for a year. Upon returning to Chicago,
Illinois, Tim played guitar in a local group 'WILD CHILD
GIBSON' of LITTLE RICHARD fame. Tim began playing
Bass Guitar and toured with local musicians Eddie Cash &
The Cashiers. Then, Tim Drummond started playing
Bass Guitar for Rockabilly CONWAY TWITTY. Twitty
began to move into Country Music, so Tim Drummond
relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where he began working the
clubs with TROY SEALS, LONNIE MACK and ROGER TROY
(Electric Flag), and worked on recording sessions for
HANK BALLARD (Hank Ballard & The Midnighters) and JAMES
BROWN. Tim joined James Brown's band JAMES BROWN &
THE FAMOUS FLAMES, touring with band members and musical
legends JIMMY NOLEN and MACEO PARKER throughout North
America, Vietnam, Korea and Africa. Exhausted Tim
quit and moved to Nashville and began working on
recording sessions for Blues and Rhythm & Blues singers,
including; JOE SIMON, MARGIE HENDRICKS, FENTON ROBINSON
and Country artists, including; RONNIE MILSAP, JIMMY
BUFFETT, DOUG KERSHAW and CHARLIE DANIELS...
NEIL YOUNG requested Tim Drummond to work on the now
platinum album "HARVEST" and later Tim toured as part of
NEIL YOUNG'S backup group 'THE STRAYGATORS' .
Moving to California, Tim became "THE" recording
session player, working with NEIL YOUNG, BOB DYLAN (Slow
Train Coming, Saved, Shot of Love), RY COODER (Bop Till
You Drop, The Slide Area, Borderline), J. J. CALE
(Naturally, Travel Log, Anyway The Wind Blows and J. J.
CALE "Live"), CROSBY, STILLS and NASH (CSN), GRAHAM NASH
(Wild Tales), The BEACH BOYS (16 Big Ones), JOHN MAYALL,
RICK DANKO, DON HENLEY (Building The Perfect Beast) and
JEWEL (Pieces Of You). Tim Drummond just completed
working with Blues legend ARTHUR 'BIG BOY' CRUDUP'S
sons, JAMES, JONAS and GEORGE CRUDUP on the 'FRANKTOWN
BLUES' project and a project with ESSRA MOHAWK entitled,
ESSIE MAE HAWK & THE KILLERGROOVEBAND. The
Grammy Nominated Bassman moves and plays on.
